Frome's unique Merlin Theatre is built on a steep hillside and the seating area is steeply tiered, ensuring that every one of the 240 seats has excellent views of the stage area. The front row of seats in actually situated on the stage area itself and the theatre has many productions throughout the year. The Merlin Theatre also has a regular programme of dance, music, films, children's theatre, workshops and literature readings. With many special events every year, Frome's Merlin Theatre frequently has famous celebrities performing on the stage, including the late Nigel Hawthorne. The foyer area at the Merlin Theatre often features art exhibitions.

This spectacular amphitheatre is situated next to the Merlin Theatre and a number of enormous standing stones form a semi-circle around the stage area. Built in 1990 to commemorate Frome's important friendship with Europe, the ECOS Amphitheatre features stones from each of these 12 different European communities. Frome's ECOS Amphitheatre features a number of theatrical events and concerts in the summer, particularly during the Frome Festival in July.

Frome's large library was built in 1990 and is located in Frome's town centre, close to the Westway Shopping Precinct area. The library has an extensive collection of books, videos, DVDs, CDs and reference books. There is also a car parking area directly outside the library.

Frome has a medium-size cinema in the town's centre, close to the Westway Shopping Precinct area. The Frome Memorial Theatre was built in 1925 and is now completely run by unpaid volunteers. Dedicated to those who lost their lives in the first World War, the Frome Memorial Theatre stages many highly-acclaimed shows and musical productions and has a full programme of events throughout the year.
